CONTENTS : 3.5 X 2.5 X 3M high Gun Sculpture (breakdown into 15 panels); three optional video units (with 4m long cloth banners); an eight minute information video or DVD; photographic wall grid of victims and survivor images; didactic text, wall size comment board (blackboard)

SPACE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum space of 140 sq m, and a minimum 4.7 m ceiling.

FEE: Upon request  

WEIGHT CONSIDERATION: The Gun Sculpture was engineered to be able to be placed in most modern public buildings (engineering information available upon request)

A Description of the Installation for Venues

Artists will provide an art installation entitled The Gun Sculpture that includes:

  • A walk in Gun Sculpture made from 14 panels bolted together. Approximate dimensions -3.5m x 2.5m x 3m, weight 5 tons
  • Up to 3 projection components or a mural of victims and survivors (or if space is available - both components)
  • Blackboard for visitor interaction
  • An 8 minute documentary video on the Gun Sculpture installation
  • Didactic text
  • Two artist/technician to supervise setting up the installation
  • Hand-out exhibition information sheet suitable for copying (supplied on disc or e-mailed)
  • A gantry for sculpture set up

The Exhibiting Venue will need to provide:

  • An exhibiting space of approximately 1500 - 2000 sq. ft. (slightly smaller spaces may be suitable - larger spaces are desirable) white or light taupe in color
  • Ceiling minimal -12ft
  • A viewing space for the documentary video
  • Electrical access for up to 3 projectors (if projections are included) plus projectors and continuous loop VCRs
  • One theatrical spot light to suspend above sculpture (if overhead lighting is not available - artists will supply spot light)
  • Regular gallery lighting - spots and floods
  • Installation time of one week, take down time of 4 days minimum
  • At least two strong preparators to install sculpture text panels and projections/mural and help with Gun Sculpture set up
  • Equipment needed for installation
    1. Hanging devices for suspension of up to 3 projectors (optional) & spot light
    2. A monitor/TV and video machine to play VHS documentary video.
    3. A fork lift to help set up the gantry
    4. Ladders
    5. Small tools - 3/8 drill, screwdrivers, wrenches (artists supply their own tools but extra tools always speed up installation time)
